My 1 yr old Border Terrier just legs it as soon as another dog comes into sight, and will not listen to any commands. He isnt a really bad dog, he usually does as he is told, but this is making life tough! He hasnt been neutered yet either…would this help?

I’ve seen more than one person complaining that when they ask a question about their companion animals, the answer is *GO TO THE VET*.
I don’t know about you, but I really don’t expect regular users on YA to have the proper veterinary medicine knowledge and background to help me cure and diagnose my companion animals.
So, when all you get is GO TO THE VET, why are you so upset? Do you really think that someone here is able to help you with a really sick pet and save you a trip to the vet?

My dog doesn’t like to go outside to do his business when its cold outside, when I do force him outside, and after he comes back in the house he’s mad at me!
He blames me that its cold outside, he thinks I made it cold outside, but my dog is too dumb to know I can’t control the weather.
How can I teach my dog about the weather changes, the change of seasons?

I have two dogs. A female lab who’s 3 years old and a male Cocker Spaniel mix who’s 2 years old. We are adding another puppy to the household and I was wondering if another female would be bad? My lab is the alpha dog. My cocker spaniel isn’t dog aggressive and the new puppy would be a small breed? Does it matter what gender we get?

My poor 13 month old Akita is covered in fleas and has been for quite a few days. We have tired everything to kill the buggers, but they are still around. Now I have bite marks all over my body that itch like crazy and I think I saw one of the black spots jumping around on my skin before I could squish it. What do I do? I must stop the itching before I lose my mind.
